Here a few links to Charities and voluntary organisations that I have connections with, and related articles.

Creative

Music Venue Trust is a UK Registered Charity which acts to protect, secure and improve UK Grassroots Music Venues for the benefit of venues, communities and upcoming artists. I’m proud to support as a Patron.

Omnibus Clapham is a great new arts centre for Clapham which has been created out of the former Clapham Library.

Autism

I was chairman for many years during the planning and building of the wonderful Treehouse School in Woodside Avenue, Muswell Hill, North London within the Pears National Centre for Autism Education. I am now the President. The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on autistic children and young people and their families. Their lives have been turned upside down. Throughout the pandemic, Ambitious about Autism has been at the frontline providing urgent care and support to those who need them most. This includes delivering food parcels, IT equipment and online information for families struggling to cope.

Please support AAA in whichever way you can so that Ambitious about Autism can continue to be there for autistic children and young people in their hour of need.

Cancer

Cancerbackup, founded by my late wife Dr Vicky Clement-Jones, merged with Macmillan Cancer Support in 2008 and they now run its cancer advice service.

Target Ovarian Cancer help service the All Party Ovarian Cancer Group. One of their key campaigns is for early screening and diagnosis for ovarian cancer commonly known as the “Silent Killer”.

Cancer Research UK are the prime movers behind the Francis Crick Institute which is currently under construction and will be a world leading centre for biomedical research and innovation in London.

Wildlife

Space for Giants is an important elephant conservation project based in Laikipia Northern Kenya. They are an international conservation organisation that protects the great wildlife landscapes that Africa’s remaining wildlife needs to survive and thrive. These landscapes give homes to giants, but they also bring great value to people and nations: biodiversity, livelihoods and enterprise, new medicines, carbon storage, even the very oxygen we breathe. But they are under threat. Criminals kill endangered animals for tusks, horns, scales and skins. Farmers needing more land to feed their families expand into wildlife habitat. When wild animals then damage their crops, they retaliate.
