Copyright Exceptions Go Through Parliament

There are mixed views about the new copyright exceptions, which derive from the original Hargreaves recommendations. Many of us think that they are unnecessary now with the developments in licensing which have taken place in recent years such as the Copyright Hub.

A few months after the passing of the Exceptions shows how little importance they have given the amount of Parliamentary time taken up in considering them. The one significant exception the private copying exception is itself so far subject to successful legal challenge by UK Music.
